Training the future

A fun and passionate team

"The secret of getting ahead is getting started"

Mark Twain inspiring the next generation of golf

We believe that playing golf not only promotes physical development of kids and teens, but also builds character.

Our amazing team is looking forward to training you.

Young golfers welcome

Playing golf is fun.

From age six, you can begin to hone your skills as a golfer with us. You will be assigned to a small group based on your age and skill level, so our friendly pros can get you started right away.

You are welcome to join our regular training sessions free of charge to see how it works. For larger groups, we offer a separate trial session outside of regular training. For your initial trial sessions, you only need athletic wear, a cap or a hat, sturdy footwear and maybe a snack. We will provide you with golf balls and clubs. Our goal is to match you with the training group that is just right for you. Please contact our back office team or our youth directors, and we will help you get set up.

In addition to the training courses, you can participate in golf tournaments on a regular basis where we play over 5 holes or sometimes even 9 holes. There you can make your first experiences on the golf course.

We also offer youth camps during the Bavarian Easter, Pentecost and summer school holidays. There you will participate in intensive training but also be able to have fun with other kids.

Competence and kindness

Youth directors

Annette Raith and Patrizia Seinsch have been leading our youth program for several years, fostering a new generation of passionate golfers. The various awards they have been honored with are a testament to their expertise and excellence in our field. They are a key element of the future of Schloss Elkofen Golf Club.

Pros and coaches

Our expert training team consists of professional golfers Karl Spikes and Bernhard Lipp, as well as our top junior players Nadine Spirgatis and Niklas Arch. But even while honing your technique, they will make sure that your enjoyment of the sport never takes a backseat.

Mentors

Our mentoring program is something unique to Schloss Elkofen Golf Club, and we are especially proud of it. There we match some of our most committed and skilled members with one junior player each. Your mentor will accompany you on the golf course for a few holes on a regular basis, offering both advice and practical help. They will help you can gain hands-on playing experience in a laid-back setting. This format also helps you to get to know each other better and fosters an atmosphere of trust and understanding. While this approach has been especially successful with kids and teens whose family or friends do not play golf, it is beneficial to any young golfer.

Keep improving

Every year, around 50 kids and teens take part in our weekly training courses consisting of five to six individual groups. We will assign you to a group matching your skill level and age. Of course, we always do our best to accommodate your family's schedule as well. Our summer training courses start right after the Bavarian Easter holidays and end on the last school day before fall break.

In the winter months of November through March, we offer indoor athletics training courses. There, you can work on maintaining your general physical fitness while having fun and strengthening the team spirit. We also offer 14-day training courses on the driving range from January through the beginning of the weekly summer training.

We can organize car pooling for those who need a lift to and from the club premises for the training courses and tournaments. Please contact our youth leaders to register. If you join a trial session, we will provide you with a right or left-handed club free of charge. For equipment rental arrangements, please contact one of our pros.

Fun and games during school holidays

Every year, during the first week of the Bavarian Easter, Pentecost and summer holidays we offer training camps on the premises of the Schloss Elkofen Golf Club. There, you will able to intensively work on your golfing skills, improve your technique and even get to experience some of the other golf courses in the surrounding area. If you want to, you can also take the test to earn the "Kindergolfabzeichen" (kids' golf award) at the end of the camp.

During the first week of the Pentecost holidays, a group of ten junior golfers will take part in a training camp in Waldkirchen at the Bayerwald Golf and Country Club. This camp takes place simultaneously with the camp at our golf club. In Waldkirchen, the day usually starts with a morning sports session. Following an ample breakfast, you will exercise on the practice areas before playing on one of the two golf courses in the afternoon. Evenings are left open for recreational activities. If there is demand, we also organize trips, for example to the movies.

Proving what you have learned

At Schloss Elkofen Golf Club, you can show off your skills once a month in our after-school tournaments. Depending on your age and skill level, you can either play over 5 holes from the green tees (Bambini), 9 holes from the green tees (MTC) or 9 holes from the red or yellow tees (JTC).

Kids under 12 with course qualification can also take part in regular tournaments of the Bavarian Mini Team Cup series (MTC). There, you have the opportunity to compete with other local teams of your age range. Our older junior golfers play in the series of the Bavarian Netto Team Championship Girls/Boys of the Bavarian Golf Association (JTC). We enter at least one team every year. The competing teams are put together ahead of each respective season and take turns facing off against each other in a total of four tournaments.
